E-Learning Plans

Students in elementary school were sent home with e-learning packets today (Friday). Please keep this packet in a safe place, you will need it in the event of an e-learning Day. 

Students in grades 6-12 will complete assignments in Google Classroom in the event of an e-learning day.

All students will have three school days to turn in their completed assignments/packets. 

Families will be notified of e-learning days through ParentSquare (this includes a phone call, text and push notification). Please take a few moments to ensure your contact information (phone number and email) is correct in Skyward. We must have correct contact information in order to notify you. 

 

School Safety Week

Next week is School Safety Week. During this week, we will hold intruder drills in collaboration with the Urbana Police Department. The drills will be brief and result in very little loss of instructional time. Our drills are intended as preventative activities to help us implement the necessary measures needed to stop an emergency from happening or reduce the impact of an incident through drill and practice. 

 

You're Invited: Family Neighborhood Night

Join us on September 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for Neighborhood Night at Ivanhoe Estates. 

Families can explore school programs, take part in hands-on learning activities, and enjoy games/activities. Refreshments will be provided.

All USD families are welcome to attend!

CU Band Showcase

Come see the Tiger Marching Band perform at the annual CU Marching Showcase!
  • September 23 from 7-8:30 p.m. 
  • Urbana High School McKinley Field
  • Food trucks will be available from 6-8 p.m.

TMB will perform along with the marching bands from Champaign Central and Champaign Centennial High Schools. 

The event is free, donations will be accepted. All donations will support the three band programs.

Latine Heritage Month

Next Tuesday is the start of Latine Heritage Month (Historically known as Hispanic Heritage Month). USD116 uses the term Latine as a more inclusive term to note people of Latin descent. 

From September 15 to October 15, we will celebrate and honor the culture, contributions, histories, and traditions of individuals from Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This recognition, which began in 1968, starts in the middle of the month because it coincides with the national independence days of several Latin American countries.
